Consider a spread footing supporting a reinforced concrete column. The geotechnical engineer has stated that the allowable soil bearing pressure (qall) at the bottom footing elevation us equal to 150 kPa. The column is subjected to a specified dead load (PDL) OF 50 kPa and a specified live load (PLL) OF 130 kN. Determine the required plan dimensions of the footing and the factored soil pressure to be used in the foundation design. The footing plan is square in shape. PoL = 50 KN Pul = 130 KN
