For example, the ultimate tensile strength of a Group A bolt is
120ksi, so the nominal shear strength with the threads not in the
shear plane is
F_nv=120(0.625)(0.90)=67.5ksi
If the threads are in the shear plane,
F_nv=0.8(67.5)=54ksi
