In H, the energy difference between the first excited state and the fundamental is 10.2 eV. At the surface of the Sun, the temperature is ~6000 K, whereas, at its nucleus is ~ 1.6x107 K. Determine: a) the ratio (n2/n1) of the numbers of H atoms in states n = 1 (fundamental) and n = 2 (first excited) on the surface of the Sun, using the Boltzmann factor and assuming the same statistical weight for both;b) Determine the fraction of unionized H atoms in the Sun's nucleus (calculate the ratio n∞/n1, considering the energy difference between the states as the ionization energy of H, 13.6 eV).
