For this exercise the data comes from cores of marine sedimentary rocks from an Oligocene-Miocene seguence. A total of thirteen species of foraminifera were collected from the cores. Eight taxa were benthic foraminifera, and their preferred depth is shown below. Five taxa were planktonic foraminifera, with their age range shown below:
