The cantilever beam shown in Figure A is subjected to load magnitudes of P2 = 2.8 kips and Py = 6.9 kips. The flanged cross section shown in Figure B has dimensions of bf = 7.7 in., tf = 0.70 in., d = 12.0 in., and tw = 0.30 in. Using L = 75 in., determine: (a) the bending stress at point A.
