(a) If m is the flowrate per unit length, derive stream function for the source and determine its component velocity in radial and tangential direction. (2 marks) (b) A rotating cylinder in a uniform flow is shown in Figure Q1. Determine : (i) The velocity components in radial and tangential direction. (ii) The coordinate of the stagnation point(s) if the strength of vortex is 4πR ( R is the radius of the cylinder) and the uniform flow velocity is 5 m/s. (iii) Sketch the combined flow field and show elearly the stagnation point(s). (iv) The total lift force occur on the cylinder if its rotates with 250rpm. (8 marks)
