company has been assigned to evaluate two pumps; Pump Megatron and Pump Omicron to be used at various locations in this country to pump water from one large reservoir to another large reservoir that is at a higher elevation as shown in Figure 1. The free surfaces of both reservoirs are exposed to atmospheric pressure. 1. For Pump Megatron, the pump performance is approximated by the expression: Havaitable =H0−aQ2H0=24.4a=0.0678 m/Lpm2 and determine the operating head and flow rate. 2. For Pump Omicron, the pump performance data is shown in Table 2 below. Plot a curve of best fit Hsotabin versus Q from 0Lpm to 30Lpm. State the equation represented by the curve. On the same graph, plot the Hreguiee versus Q and indicate the operating point. Table 2: Pump Omicron performance data Lom: Litres per minute 3.
