Age- & Sex-Related Differences in Resistance Training For each case study, provide a template/outline with the FITT principle for a resistance exercise regimen. Keep in mind the safety recommendations that apply for individuals of each group. This should not consist of exercises, sets, and repetitions. Your response should encompass key factors and differences that should be taken into account for individuals of their respective groups. Case Study #1 Mr. Welty is a 68-year-old man, who used to enjoy a sedentary lifestyle. His past medical history is clear of any contraindications or significant risk factors for joint issues. He does not present any signs or symptoms of cardiovascular disease. Mr. Welty has not performed resistance exercises in over 35 years. Case Study #2 Valerie is a 24-year-old woman who is training for the Olympics. She has no known history of injuries that has prevented her from training or competing, but Valerie exhibits knee valgus upon jumping and landing and occasionally hyperextends her shoulder when reaching overhead in her sport. Valerie tends to have to spend extra time recovering from her competitions. Case Study #3 Marty is a 7-year-old boy who wants to begin his career in baseball. He wants to become a pitcher and be the best bitcher in his league. Marty seems to have good accuracy when throwing, but he is not able to throw very far. He also exhibits winging of the scapula.
