4. A classic study by Theodor W. Engelmann revealed the wavelengths of light that are most strongly absorbed by chlorophyll, and are thus vital for photosynthesis. Engelmann placed a filament of algae in water, and exposed different sections of the filament to different wavelengths of light. In addition, he placed aerobic bacteria (those that require oxygen to survive) in with the algae. Using the figure below, identify which wavelengths of light are most important for photosynthesis.
