Check the reducing power of a sodium phosphite solution with the following reagents (drops): a) 1% permanganate solution acidified with a few drops of dilute sulfuric acid; b) iodine solution; c) 1% silver nitrate solution; d) copper sulfate solution. Discuss the observed reactions and establish the equations. Compare the result with the reducing and oxidizing properties of nitrous acid.
