The manager of a health insurance company located in an outer suburban area was thinking of relocating to a suburb closer to the city centre. The office space ren area are more expensive. Since the building contained individual offices the manager thought that this would increase productivity of the staff. The outer suburban office. The manager thinks that productivity is currently compromised by the proximity of staff which allows them to socialise more freely. The manager decides to renovate a small section of the current office space, so that some staff can be located in individual offices. For a period of one week, a ran their productivity monitored by having the number of claims they process each day recorded. These staff are then relocated to individual offices and the number of claims they process each day for a period of one week are recorded.
