Is it worth pursuing a doctoral degree in education if youalready have an undergraduate degree? One way to help make thisdecision is to look at the mean incomes of these two groups.Suppose that 15 people with bachelor’s degrees in education weresurveyed. Their mean annual salary was $43,500 with a standarddeviation of $7500. Thirteen people with doctoral degrees ineducation were found to have a mean annual salary of $43,000 with astandard deviation of $9300. Assume that the population variancesare not the same. Construct a 95% confidence interval to estimatethe true difference between the mean salaries for people withdoctoral degrees and undergraduate degrees in education. LetPopulation 1 be the salaries for people with doctoral degrees andPopulation 2 be the salaries for people with undergraduate degrees.Round the endpoints of the interval to the nearest whole number, ifnecessary.
