Problem. 5: Newton's Law of Cooling states that the rate at which the temperature of an object changes is directly proportional to the difference between the temperature of the object and that of the surrounding medium. A horseshoe is heated to a temperature of 100°C and then immersed in a large tank of water at a constant temperature of 40°C at time t= 0. After 3 minutes the temperature of the horseshoe is reduced to 60°C. Find a function T(t) that gives the temperature of the horseshoe at time t. Note: Don't use any decimal approximations for values when writing out the equation below; if you have a number that is in terms of a log, leave it in that form when writing the equation. Only compute and round for the second part of this problem where it asks you to round your answer. T(0)- What is the temperature of the horseshoe 11 minutes after it has been immersed in the water? (Round your answer to one decimal place.) 7 C
