A farmer has 400 acres that she can plant in either corn
or soybeans. Due to the topography of the land, the maximum amount
of land she could use for corn or soybeans is 300 acres and 200
acres respectively. Each acre of corn requires 10 gallons and each
acre of soybeans requires 30 gallons of irrigation water per day,
out of an available amount of 5,000 gallons per day. The profit on
corn is $850 per acre, and the profit on soybeans is $1500 per
acre. How many acres of each crop should she plant to maximize her
profit?
