L = 3.5 m FIGURE Q4(a)
Figure Q4(a) shows a steel column with the length of 3.5 m and pin-ended supported at both sides. The steel column has a rectangular cross section (100 mmx 200 mm). (i) (ii) Check whether the Eurler's formula is appropriate or not by using condition Oer Oy. The yield stress of steel is oy 250 MPa and the Modulus Elasticity of the steel is 200 GPa.
