Can someone please explain why this reaction leads to NH3+instead of NH2? (Please draw out a synthesis/ mechanism &explain). This is a photo of the answer sheet for review questionsmy professor posted, however, when I look these reagents up onlineit says it should be reducing to a NH2, not NH3. I asked theprofessor and he said it was because of the HCl, but I still don'tunderstand why. Thanks!!
