Use: A=3, G=1, L=2 A reinforced concrete beam has a web width of 300 mm and a web depth of (300 +50(G+L)) mm. The beam flange has width of (300 + 300A) mm and a flange thickness of 125 mm. The section has a steel cover of 70 mm. The concrete used has strength of 20.7 MPa and yield strength of 280 MPa. The beam is reinforced with 4-32mmø on tension only. 1. Determine the depth of the compression block. Check if the steel yields or otherwise. 2. Determine the distance of extreme compression fiber to neutral axis. 3. Determine the ultimate moment.
