A four-cylinder, 2.5-liter, SI engine operates at WOT on afour-stroke air standard Otto cycle at 3000 RPM. The engine has acompression ratio 8.6, a mechanical efficiency of 86%, and astroke-to-bore ratio L/D = 1.025. Fuel is iso-octane(C8H18) with A/F = 15, a heating value of44,300 kJ/kg, and combustion efficiency of 100%. At the start ofthe compression stroke, conditions in the cylinder are 100 kPa and60°C. It can be assumed that there is a 4% exhaust residual leftover from the previous cycle. Do a cold air standard analysis andcalculate:Pressure and temperature at each state of the cycle,Indicated thermal efficiency,Indicated mean effective pressure,Brake power,Torque,Brake mean effective pressure.
