QUESTION 5 A water jet is accelerated by a nozzle to the stationary vertical plate as shown in Figure Q5. The inner diameter of the inlet pipe, D1 is 15 cm and 7.5 cm at the outlet, D2. The water jet discharges water into the atmosphere at point 2 and strikes a stationary vertical plate at point 3. The total weight of nozzle and water is negligible.
