Locate the data sheet for the 74LS247 and record the pinnumbers on the diagram shown on the right. Using the data sheet for your 7-segment display, add thepin numbers to the diagram on the right.Connect the 74LS247 BCD – 7 Segment decoder, 7-segment display and resistors as shown in the diagram. Use thisexact layout to ensure that the resistors do not touch one another to avoid shorts.
Connect switches SW3-0 (A, B, C, D) using a quad-to-fourconnector. Notice that the input D is the most significantbit. To test the circuit’s operation, set various binarycounts on the switches and make sure their decimalequivalent shows on the 7-segment display. Cycle through the binary pattern for the switches andcomplete the truth table in the report, recording allpatterns. Describe what changing the input does.
