a) Question 5. (10 points) In Figure 1, a transmission scheme is shown in which differential encoding/decoding is applied. The 12 bits at the input are encoded from right to left (so the right-most input bit with value "0" is encoded first). Communication system with differential encoding and decoding. Determine the sequence of symbols for the given 12 input bits that, after differential encoding, is transmitted over the channel. Do this for the situation as shown in Figure 1, where the reference symbol (i.e. the last symbol transmitted over the channel before the start of the given sequence) has been a "1". Due to noise on the channel, errors have occurred in the 4th, 8th and 9th received symbol (the symbols corresponding to the underlined input bits as shown in Figure 1). Determine for this case the bit sequence at the output of the differential decoder.
