For an injection molding process, a four-cavity mold is beingused for a certain part. It has been proposed to develop X-bar andR charts for part weight where the subgroup/sample is composed ofthe four parts from a single shot (i.e., one part from eachcavity). Comment on the appropriateness of this method of sampling.What impact does it have on the ability of the charts to detectchanges in the process?
