This leaves President Biden with the task of naming Breyer's successor. More significantly, he has the opportunity to nominate the first African American woman to the High Court. According to a recent ABC News/Ipsos poll. 76% of Americans believe that President Biden should consider all possible nominees" for Breyer's replacement, compared to 23% of Americans who believe he should consider only nominees who are Black women, as he has pledged to do." Write a critical reflection about this potentially historic nomination. Weigh all sides of the argument using the frame of civil rights. What is civil rights and does this nomination matter in 2022?
