A single layer, air core, self-supporting coil consisting of 350 circular turns each of radius 2 cm is shaped to produce a uniform magnetic field intensity inside the coil and zero elsewhere. The mean length of the coil is 30 cm. Determine the inductance of the coil. (4 marks) (ii) Draw the B-H curve for the system when the coil current is increased from zero and indicate the values of B and H when the coil is supplied with 16A. (7 marks) (iii) Find the total energy stored in the magnetic field when the coil current is 16 A. (3 marks)
