Depths 10 ma are measured from the bottom of the vee. a) If the flow rate is 16 m³ s-¹, find the critical depth. b) A hydraulic jump is observed to occur at this flow rate. If the depth on one side of the jump is 1.85 m, find the depth on the other side of the jump. Note: you would be well-advised to work from first principles, not inapplicable formulae.
