The following data were obtained during a test of a six-cylinder four-stroke Otto-cycle engine: speed, 2000 rpm; bore, 3.5 in.; stroke, 3.75 in.; specific fuel consumption based on the brake horsepower, 0.66 lb per bhp-hr; brake arm, 1.05 ft; heating value of fuel, 20,000 Btu per lb; brake torque, 133 ft-lb; friction torque, 40 ft-lb; room temperature, 90 F; barometer, 27.50 in. mercury. Find (a) brake horsepower, (b) brake mean effective pressure, (c) indicated horsepower, (d) indicated mean effective pressure, (e) brake thermal efficiency, and (f) indicated thermal efficiency.
