Q6 [25 marks] (a) Consider a diatomic gas of N (non-interacting H₂) molecules confined in a con- tainer of size V, with chemical potential, and temperature T. Show that the N molecules grand canonical partition function is given by Q(V₁T₁ μ) = exp(eªu) where the inverse temperature, ß = 1/kBT and A is the thermal wavelength. [Hint: Include a normalized factor N!] (15 marks)
