Why is the dye spreading out? O a. The dye molecules want to spread out because that is their most stable state and thus move directionally to spread out within the solution. O b. The dye molecules want to spread out because they don't like being near molecules of the same type - the potential energy is high. Unless energy is going into a system, it always moves towards lower potential energy (higher stability). Oc. The dye molecules are constantly moving which eventually makes them spread out due to the repelling forces between "like" molecules (.e. the dye molecules). Overall, there is a net movement from high to low. Od. The dye molecules are constantly moving and since they are more concentrated in one area, the probability that any given dye molecule is moving away from that area is higher than a molecule moving toward that area. Thus, there is a net movement from high to low concentration.
