Size exclusion chromatography (gel filtration) reveals that the native protein has a molecular weight of 100 kDa in the absence of dithiotreitol and 50 kDa in the presence of dithiotreitol whereas SDS- PAGE electrophoreses shows one peak of 50 kDa. Explain what can be determined about the structure of this protein.
