Alex and Julie are married to each other. Julie is regularlyviolent towards Alex and there have been instances of her peltinghim with pots, pans and vases. On one occasion, she threw a bottleat him which hit a marble countertop and shattered, ripping off thetip of his finger in the process. One night, Alex and Julie hadbeen drinking heavily. Julie told Alex that she found himdisgusting and hated being touched by him. When Alex said he couldno longer take her mental and physical abuse, Julie made fun of himby calling him ‘a baby’ and saying he’s ‘not a man’. Julie alsotold Alex that she never loved him and she had been having affairswith multiple men, including his best friend John, since beforetheir marriage. Alex, upon hearing this, reached for a wine bottleand smashed it repeatedly over Julie’s head, while yelling, “Youbitch! Die, die, die!!!” He then collapsed in a drunken stupor.When Alex woke up and saw Julie unconscious on the floor, heregretted his actions and decided to take Julie to the hospital.Unfortunately, as Alex was carrying Julie out of the front door, hetripped over and dropped Julie on the porch. As a result of theinjuries she sustained from the fall, Julie died.
