Experiments
1.1 In the self siphonage tests, the water basin is filled up to
4.5 L. Ensure that the trap is full. Allow the sink to drain by
pulling the plug from the outlet orifice.
1.2 Trap-seal losses are measured by the drop in water level as
shown in the manometer fitted externally to the trap.
1.3 The procedure is repeated 3 times to get more reliable
readings. Before each draining, ensure the trap is originally full.
The results should be presented with a suitable table in the
report.
1.4 The test procedure can be repeated using four different
branch pipe gradients and lengths.
1.5 The experiment can be repeated with an anti-siphonage trap
and a different pipe size.
Question: Present the raw data provided in suitable
tables. Describe the measured conditions with the
data.
