Are Instagram users more liberal than those who don't use the platform? The goal of this assignment is to use confidence intervals to determine if there is a difference in the proportions of people who have liberal political views based on whether or not they use Instagram, a social media platform. The data are from the 2016 General Social Survey (GSS). The GSS is a survey conducted every two years to gather information about behaviors and attitudes on a variety of issues for adults (18+ years old) in the United States. Survey respondents are from a list of randomly selected households. The GSS contains over 900 variables. The data for this analysis are from the gss16 dataset in the dsbox R package.
