Case study Andrew is a Senior Design Engineer with more than 10 years of experience is designing a business software. He has been working in this company called Omegaz since he graduated from the university. He is very hardworking, works diligently, and well-received by his fellow colleagues in the department and organisation. Due to his consistent good performance, recently, he is promoted as a Manager of the Design Department. He is now having the responsibilities to lead 8 other engineers in the Design Department. Andrew started his first duty to take over the supervision of the 8 engineers. These group of engineers are from local and overseas. These 8 engineers are currently assigned into 2 groups to handle two different projects. Team A is led by John while Team B is led by Vincent. Team A and team B were formed around two weeks ago in order to complete the projects. Unfortunately, after two weeks assuming the position as a manager in the Design Department, Andrew discovered that both Team A and B are having conflicts. Andrew can feel the immense stress at once. He has not had the time to figure out how to lead the teams to complete the projects, and now there is a conflict situation that he needs to resolve. Andrew does not have any experience to be a manager. Assuming that Andrew comes to you, the Human Resource Manager, and seek for your advice. Explain the followings to Andrew with the necessary application of management theories.
