2 5 a). How to control the speed of the DC-separately excited motor at above and below base speed, and explain in detail operation along with characteristics and its applications. 5 b). A six pole dc-shunt motor is supplied from 230V with a current of 60A. The armature resistance, field resistance and field flux per pole are 0.312, 10092 and 0.023Wb, respectively. The machine armature is lap connected with 864 conductors along with a the friction torque of 4Nm. Calculate (i) The speed in rpm, (ii) Gross torque developed by the armature, (iii) Starting torque, (iv) Shaft power, (v) Efficiency.
