An assembly consists of two continuous beams ABD and CDEF joined via a link and roller support. An external point load P is applied downwards at point E. You are required to determine: a) Shear Force and Bending Moment Diagrams for beams ABD and CDEF in terms of P. b) The maximum normal stress due to bending in beam ABD if P = 16 kN and the beam cross-section is rectangular with dimensions of 90 mm x 70 mm (h x w). c) The maximum normal stress due to bending in beam CDEF if P = 20 kN and the beam cross-section is square with dimensions of 80 mm x 80 mm.
