During your study of glycolysis, glucose-6-phosphate has been the starting point of many different pathways. If a patient is hypoglycemic and lacking energy; it sounds like a good idea to save energy and give them glucose-6- phoshate. But why can't we just give them glucose in the form of glucose-6- phosphate?
