DATA ANALYSIS (Show one sample calculation of each of these in your lab notebook) 1. Using the ideal gas law, calculate your experimental value of R (the gas constant) for each trial. (Remember, the pressure is the AP from your data table.) 2. Calculate the average and relative range of your R values. 3. Calculate the % error of your average R. CONCLUSIONS/DISCUSSION Did you achieve the main goals of the lab, if so, state this. State your results, ie your average R value, your relative range and your % error. How do you know if your R value is reliable or not? (Discuss your precision and your accuracy.) Discuss possible sources of systematic error. What sorts of errors would make your experimental value of R high? What sort of errors would make it low?
