An autosomal recessive condition has been discovered in a family. An RFLP analysis normally linked to the condition was conducted on 4 members of the family (uncle, father, mother, and child). The 4 members who participated in the study do not have the condition. The only other person still alive with the condition is the paternal grandfather, however, he did not wish to participate in the study. The following results were obtained.
