Below is a stained SDS polyacrylamide gel with a single band of the polypeptide (LSEDHYSEDRFMVILSV) in lane 1, which has 1 band. Lane 2, which has 3 bands, shows the same polypeptide after it was cleaved with a chymotrypsin protease. Each band in lane 2 corresponds to a polypeptide fragment after cleavage with chymotrypsin. Is lane 2 consistent with your expectations for the number of fragments seen after cleavage? Briefly explain why. (11 pts) Electrophoresis 1 2
