Prokaryotes prioritize efficiency when it comes to gene expression; they want to respond quickly to the external environment. On the other hand, eukaryotes prioritize control. Many eukaryotes are multicellular, which different cells expressing different genes despite having the same DNA. Eukaryotes may also go through developmental stages where the patter or gene expression changes. Thus, being able to tightly control which genes are expressed and when it is crucial for eukaryotes. Explain how the differences in gene expression between prokaryotes and eukaryotes relates to each of their priorities.
