A cylinder is filled with 3.0 mols of an ideal gas which first begins a three step cycle with an isochoric process starting at Point A, which is at 1 atmosphere and 15. x 103 m³. The gas ends this isochoric process at point B with a pressure of 6.0 atmospheres. The gas is then taken isothermally to point C, which is at a volume of 90. x 103 m³. Lastly, the gas is then taken isobarically back to point A at 1.0 atm. The gas occupies a sealed container with no leaks. Note 1.0 atm is 1.01 x 105 N/m². (a) On the grid to the right, plot and label the points A and B and sketch the corresponding isochoric process. 6.01 P 5.0- (atm) Work is done by the gas in one cycle 4.0- 3.0- 2.0- 1.0- 0 0 10. 20. 30. 40. 50. 60. 70. 80. 90. (d) Calculate the Kelvin temperature of the isothermal process. (e) Calculate the amount of work done during the isothermal process. (f) Which type of isothermal process is process BC? (g) Calculate the net work done during the entire cycle ABC. (h) Based on your answer to (g), is work done on the gas or by the gas during one complete cycle?
