Variation #1: Create analytical maps of historical ownership, paved areas forcars, parks & natural areas, community amenities.Street Design • Streets are public space, just like parks. How do wemeasure who a street is designed for?
STEP 3:Write the following: • For a main street in their study area, count the number of stepsgiven to each of the following categories: sidewalks, green spaceand trees, bike lanes, bus lanes, parking, driving lanes, andanything else. • Then decide, who gets the most space? Is the street balanced? Howcould the street design be improved?• Consider different kinds of spaces in their study area and howthey are used (e.g., places to live, work, shop, gather andplay). • Describe what is missing and what improvements could bemade. • Add photos of likes & dislikes for each category.
