Case Study 3: Logistics • Logistics hires many temporary employees but has a long, difficult process to becoming a permanent employee The company has cliques and rules of acceptance. This alienation of personnel caused a temporary employee to attempt suicide. • After additional company structural changes, nothing is done for the employee struggling, resulting in another suicide attempt.
Lesson Learned Employers have the responsibility to ensure the safety of employees. Did the treatment of the temporary employee cause her self harming actions? What can a company do to address harmful culture once it has been recognized?
