Sarita Shrestha was a psychology student and was looking for abusiness idea. While visiting a trade exhibition, she came across astall put up by a foreign company specializing in window cleaning.She thought that window cleaning had a lot of potential in Nepal.She noticed that recently a number of high-rise commercial andresidential buildings had come up in the major city and thebuilding was likely to continue for long. Once her finalexamination was over, she systematically went about to make acareer in this strange venture. She went to Japan for a trainingcourse on professional cleaning. She learnt mopping, polishing,emptying garbage, cans and vacuuming. She returned to Nepal andstarted Technoclean Nepal Pvt. Ltd. Realizing that she does nothave the maturity to get the contracts from the big companies, shepersuaded her father to join her business. Next, she and her fatherrealized that they needed the credentials to attract top clients.They entered into a joint venture with One Complete Solution, aCleaning Service MNC with a presence in over 45 countries, having aturnover in excess of 600 millions US $ and over 10,000 employees.She was able to move fast and capture a number of big high-profileclients. Today ,Hotel Solatee, Yak and Yeti and various governmentbranches are amongst her clients. Her company also has the contactto Clean International Ltd, building in Japan, which has thelargest glass façade in the country. Technoclean is currentlyheadquartered in Kathmandu and has branch offices in Lalitpur,Biratnagar, Pokhara and Bhairahawa. Next, She decided to trainherself to become a “Sipderwomen”. Spiderman are cleaners who slidedown the exteriors of buildings using a rope instead of using alift or cradle. She got training in Singapore and became Nepal'sfirst “Spider Woman ''. It gave her additional publicity and it wasgood for business. Now whenever any company thinks of cleaningexteriors of high rise. It is very difficult for others to competewith it in this highly specialized service.
