We celebrate Canada Day on July 1 every year. As a country, weembrace values such as diversity and inclusion. Share your thoughtsabout one issue within recruitment that is a barrier to hiringpractices, and poses a challenge for advancement of diversity andinclusion within employment and society. (We now have a deeperunderstanding that practices and policies which promote diversity and inclusion make organizations stronger and add to itssuccess.)
You can share about your own experience, or a family member, friend, neighbour’s experience etc. You can also speak of somethingyou came across in the news, or learned about on Social Media. Youcan also note an issue outside of Canada, in another country orregion, if that is where you witnessed or personally had theexperience with that barrier or concern. You can speak ofmarginalized groups or communities as well, which face barrierswhen it comes to being hired or seeking employment.
Also, note one way that issue or challenge, which you havementioned, can be resolved.
Thus, highlight one challenge or barrier within hiring andrecruitment practices that you have come across or identified, andthen present one possible solution to eliminate that barrier, orimprove the situation.
