As a child, Susan was an excellent sleeper. She could fallasleep quickly, and typically slept straight through the night, often for as long as 10 hours. As a teenager, then as an adult, shedid not sleep as long as she used to (usually about 8 hours), butstill had no trouble falling or staying asleep at night.Today, Susan is 77 years old, and although she is relativelyhealthy, she just does not sleep the way she used to. Over the lastfew years, it has taken her longer and longer to fall asleep atnight, to the point where she is often still awake after midnight.Regardless of how much sleep she ultimately gets, she still feelsgroggy throughout the day. A friend suggested that she might havesleep apnea and recommended that Susan talk to her doctor abouthaving a sleep study done and possibly getting a CPAP machine. Theway she is feeling, Susan is ready to try just about anything.
