The Corona Virus, that started to spread in many countries inearly 2020, is more contagious than the common flu. Many people areinfected, and many of the infected died. The number of deathsresulting from the coronavirus can be calculated as a result of theinfection rate and the mortality rate. The infection rate is thenumber of persons in a population of 1,000,000 people who arelikely to get infected. For this exercise, we assume the infectionrate ranges from 10 to 25 people per million (PPM). Likewise, weassume the mortality rate (the death rate) ranges from 1000 to 2500people per million infected (PPMI). These rates are doubled for asusceptible population (that is people who are above 60 or haveother health issues). Given these data, answer the followingquestions. For each question, always start with the original valuesgiven here. (Note: The numbers used in this example arefictional.)
Fifty % of the population in a city of 8 million aresusceptible, among the susceptible population, what is the maximumnumber of people likely to get infected? A 70 B 250 C 154 D 140Answer is 140, how?
