Plate tectonics carries the carbonate rocks until they're subducted & melted, releasing their CO₂ Atmospheric CO2 dissolves in rainwater in clouds, making it acidia. + Dissolved CO2 & minerals form carbonate rocks, such as limestone, on the ocean floors
