The vitreous humor is jelly-like in consistency, unlike the clear liquid aqueous humor. 9. Use a pair of scissors to continue the cutting around the edge of the comea, of the anterior portion of the eyeball, to expose the iris. a. With the cornea removed, examine the iris. 10. Use the forceps to carefully remove the retina in the posterior portion of the eyeball and expose the tapetum lucidum, a reflective shiny, greenish-blue colorful layer of the choroid coat. 11. Use the same forceps to separate the choroid coat from the tough sclera. 3. a. The iris is pigmented in humans and controls the size of your pupil.
