Question 2 (16 marks) The Varley loop test set of Figure 1 consists of a defective conductor (faulty cable) and a healthy cable (sound conductor) connected at the cable terminal located 10 miles from the test set. The cables have a resistance 0.0502 per 1000 feet. Given E=6V, R₁=1km2, R₁=2k2, R₁ = 10002 when switch is at a position and R-992 when the switch is at b position.
